Ultrasonic phased -array testing (PAUT) - LEVEL II

TRAINING COURSE (PAUT)

LEVEL II

Ultrasonic method of control using phased array probes (PAUT). Antenna grate (Array) is a probe with lots of elements assembled in the same chassis. Phased Array equipment enhances the ability to perform UT control over traditional, echo-impulse UT.

The most significant differences from the standard echo-impulse (UT) method are:

  • improved control performance, i.e., high-speed scanning without transverse probe deflections.
  • control using different input angles using one probe by electronic control of input angle and focus.
  • increased likelihood of detection of defects.
  • provides greater confidence in the measurement of defects. Gives more information at the same time for traditional UT control.
  • ability to monitor locations that were previously inaccessible or difficult to access.

TUV NORD Baltik invites anyone wishing to undergo Ultrasonic phased array (PAUT) and qualify in one or more industrial and production sectors to one of the qualification levels.

NOTE to learn PAUT, we strongly recommend studying UT-ll.
